Farrell Fritz is pleased to welcome John Stellakis, returning as counsel in the firm’s land use and municipal practice group. John is an experienced land use attorney handling zoning applications, municipal matters, litigation, and environmental cases, as well as commercial and residential real estate transactions.
With a robust background in litigation, John handles a variety of legal matters, including prosecuting and defending Article 78 proceedings and plenary actions related to land use disputes and entitlements. His extensive experience in Federal and State motion practice, trial work, and appellate advocacy covers a broad spectrum of issues, ranging from municipal and zoning issues to environmental protection and liability.
In addition to his law practice, John is an Adjunct Professor of Legal Process at Touro University, Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center and dedicates his time to mentoring high school students participating in mock trial and moot court programs and competitions.
John earned his Juris Doctor from Villanova University School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in Philosophy and Political Science from Villanova University. He is a graduate of Chaminade High School
John is also a frequent contributor to the firm’s Long Island Land Use and Zoning blog.
