David M. Curry

David Curry is a real estate attorney representing owners and developers of commercial real estate assets including office, industrial, hotel, retail, and mixed-use properties. A versatile transactional lawyer, Dave advises clients in leasing, financing, purchase and sale, Industrial Development Agency (IDA), air rights, and construction contract negotiations.

Dave represents lending institutions and borrowers in real estate acquisition and construction financing, both mortgage and mezzanine. Landlords and tenants in commercial leasing transactions use Dave’s practical advice regarding industrial, retail, warehouse, and office space. Owners, contractors, and subcontractors choose him for seamless construction contract negotiations, and borrowers and purchasers for completing industrial development agency (IDA) transactions.

• Represented a national lending institution on multiple construction loans with a borrower group focused on rehabilitation of underutilized buildings for self-storage.
• Advised a large national developer and operator of assisted living facilities with respect to economic development incentives with Suffolk County Industrial Development Agency.
• Represented a major real estate owner in the disposition of a portfolio of over 1,100 multi-family units and one of Long Island’s most iconic hotels.
• Counseled a major lending institution on several loans to subsidiaries of one of the largest multi-family portfolio owners in New York.
• Advised the owner of a large industrial company on the sale of the company and lease to the new company of the building the business occupied, as well as consent and assignment of rights from the New York City Industrial Development Agency.
• Counseled a major New York developer in the acquisition of property in the City of Glen Cove for the construction of a mixed-use development, as well as real estate, mortgage recording and sales tax relief from the City of Glen Cove Industrial Development Agency.
• Advised a large lending institution in connection with the refinance of numerous industrial and office properties in one of the largest commercial real estate portfolios on Long Island.
• Represented a major owner of office buildings in Manhattan and other major markets on the ground lease of an office building in midtown.
• Advised the owner of a start-up company on the acquisition of multiple industrial buildings in Suffolk County, as well as benefits from the Town of Babylon Industrial Development Agency and the Town of Islip Industrial Development Agency.
• Counseled a national lending institution on a construction loan to a New York Not-for-Profit company for the rehabilitation of the borrower’s headquarters.
