Edward D. Baker is a trusts and estates litigator representing individuals and families throughout the metropolitan New York area. His practice includes will and trust contests, contested accountings, discovery proceedings, removal proceedings, and guardianship proceedings.
A thorough and experienced litigator, Ed conducts the full range of activities to resolve disputes efficiently, including pretrial discovery, legal research, drafting motion papers, and settlement negotiations. Successfully opposed a motion by respondent’s counsel to vacate a stipulation of settlement entered into between the parties and prevailed on opposing an appeal to the Second Department.
Secured a judgment in excess of $130,000,000 following a bench trial.
Represented a petitioner before the Surrogate’s Court and Appellate Division, First Department, who successfully moved for summary judgment dismissing objections that the propounded will was revoked by a subsequent purported instrument.
Represented a petitioner who successfully moved for summary judgment opposing the respondent’s petition to compel a distribution.
