Joel Weiss is a criminal defense lawyer representing professionals and public officials. Handling primarily white collar and complex cases, Joel defends doctors, pharmacists, lawyers, law firms, accountants, bankers, museum executives, law enforcement officers, brokers, business owners and corporations, among others. Sought for his successful track record, Joel achieves acquittals, dismissals, and the withdrawal of charges for clients in New York state and federal courts.
Before joining Farrell Fritz, Joel served in the Nassau County District Attorney’s office from 1978 to 1988, also serving as chief of the commercial frauds and rackets bureaus. He also served as independent Special Counsel to the Suffolk County Legislature.
With a lengthy and successful career, Joel has shared his knowledge as an instructor for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy and has served as an instructor in litigation skills at Hofstra Law School.
