Jonathan Sclar is a trusts and estates litigator representing individuals and families in high-value and complex disputes. Jonathan advises clients on will and trust contests, contested accountings, removal and guardianship proceedings, and more.
Handling all aspects of litigation, Jonathan drafts and answers complaints, conducts discovery, analyzes cases, negotiates settlements, and defends clients at trial. Whenever possible, he aims to help clients resolve their disputes outside of the courtroom, he is prepared to fully defend their position at trial or before an alternative tribunal.
Prior to joining Farrell Fritz, Jonathan served as an appellate Assistant District Attorney in the Bronx District Attorney’s office. In that role, he argued before the Appellate Division on numerous matters, which plays a foundational role in how he formulates practical guidance for clients today. Jonathan’s experience also includes working as a litigation associate in a boutique New York City law firm, handling contract disputes as well as employment, financial, and other business matters. Before entering private practice, Jonathan was a judicial intern for the Honorable Joanna Seybert of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
