Patrick Collins is a bankruptcy & restructuring lawyer and commercial litigator.
Pat represents every type of party involved in bankruptcy cases and litigation brought in the bankruptcy courts. Pat advises creditors, debtors, trustees, committees, lenders, asset purchasers, landlords, shareholders, officers, and directors in bankruptcy proceedings. He has defended hundreds of preference, fraudulent transfer and other types of claw back claims and lawsuits in bankruptcy courts and other courts over the course of his career. Pat also represents parties to receivership proceedings and other forms of insolvency-related litigation in New York state and federal courts. He counsels parties to out-of-court insolvency matters and handles workouts for both lenders and borrowers.
In addition to bankruptcy and solvency-related litigation, Pat prosecutes and defends commercial litigation involving, among other subject areas, loan enforcement, lender liability, and the Uniform Commercial Code. He also obtains and enforces judgments against debtors in the state of New York. Additionally, Pat prosecutes and defends commercial mortgage foreclosure actions and represents secured lenders carrying out sales and other dispositions of collateral under Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code.
As someone who contributes regularly to his community, Pat represents charitable organizations and indigent individuals on a pro bono basis in bankruptcy, insolvency, and litigation matters.
Prior to practicing law, Pat applied his B.S.E. in mechanical engineering and materials science as an engineer for a prominent aerospace company.
