
Richard Stella is a commercial litigator defending companies of all sizes in a range of civil and criminal litigation. As part of the firm’s litigation team, he resolves disputes related to contracts, trade secrets, antitrust and intellectual property, amongst other areas. Richard’s litigation experience spans many industries, including aerospace, biotechnology, cryptocurrency, emerging technology, finance, government contracts, manufacturing, and more.
A versatile attorney, Richard also supports clients in complex transactions, mergers, joint ventures, and regulatory compliance. His experience includes conducting internal corporate investigations involving a range of issues such as antitrust violations, SEC violations, trade secret theft, financial theft and general corporate malfeasance.
Augmenting his practice, Richard performs robust pro bono work representing criminal defendants and individuals seeking asylum. He recently assisted multiple indigent criminal defendants, as part of the Criminal Justice Act (CJA) panel, in cases ranging from criminal fraud to robbery. Richard is deeply committed to providing outstanding representation to all clients.
Before joining the firm, Richard was an associate in the New York office of a global law firm where he supported client matters in both the corporate and litigation groups. To provide thoughtful and practical advice to clients, Richard also draws upon his work as a judicial extern for Magistrate Judge Ramon E. Reyes Jr. of the Eastern District of New York and Judge Leo M. Gordon of the U.S. Court of International Trade.
